ABSTRACT:
The Research approach adopted for the study was quantitative approach. The research design selected for the study was non experimental research design which was used to measure the senior citizens emotional problems. The selection of senior citizens was done by purposive sampling technique and the sample consist of 30 senior citizens in selected rural area. The instrument used for data collection was semi structured questionnaires tool which was developed to collect the data from sample collected data was analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics in learning of frequencies, percentage mean, standard deviation and chi square test. Among 15 samples 7(46.7%) senior citizens are employed and 5(33.3%) senior citizens are unemployed, 7(46.7%) Senior citizens are belonging to regular pension at present and 8(53.3%) senior citizens are belongs to irregular at pension, 6(40.1%) senior citizens are have many friends and 5(33.3%) senior citizens are have few friends and 4(26.6%) senior citizens are having none of friends. These findings also revealed that, there is no significant relationship between senior citizens emotional problem and selected socio demographic variables such as previous occupation, type of pension at present, number of friends you have.
