ABSTRACT:
From conception babies form a lifelong bond with their fathers, however forming a bond with the father takes effort and involvement with an infant on the father's part. Sharing in the care of the infant with the father is a proven way to build a special father-child bond. The descriptive study attempts to assess the knowledge and attitude regarding newborn care among fathers of neonates who are residing at selected hospitals in Ahmedabad with a view to develop a health education module. The study involved single group test without a control, using non-experimental descriptive design, with non-probability convenient sampling. 60 fathers were involved in data collection by using structured questionnaire. The study came to an end by implementation of health education on newborn care and the results were described using descriptive and inferential statistics.
